Lautzenheiser Joins Board of Tar River Land Conservancy
Loretta Lautzenheiser of Tarboro was recently elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of Tar River Land Conservancy, a Louisburg-based non-profit land trust. Mrs. Lautzenheiser and husband Ken are 30-year residents of Tarboro.
“We are so pleased that Loretta will lend her skills and wisdom to the work of the Conservancy,” remarked Mr. Ernie Averett, the Conservancy’s President. “She brings an impressive knowledge of the resources of our region, experience governing non-profits, and success as a business owner.”
Mrs. Lautzenheiser holds degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In 1988, she started Coastal Carolina Research, Inc., a consulting firm in Tarboro specializing in archeological research and historic preservation projects. Mrs. Lautzenheiser was awarded the Carraway Award of Merit by Preservation North Carolina and the Federal Highway Administration’s Environmental Excellence Award. She is the past-president of the American Cultural Resources Association and served on the board of the Register of Professional Archaeologists. She sold Coastal Carolina Research in 2009 and is currently retired.
Mrs. Lautzenheiser joins Mr. Averett of Oxford, Z. Bryan Haislip of Tarboro, Elizabeth Shearin of Aventon, Boyd Sturges of Louisburg, and Ryon Wilder of Raleigh on the Conservancy Board of Directors.
